Title:
Clicking on file results on the Dash opens their folder, but not the
  file itself

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
This is a problem in both 2D and 3D unity.

If my config is ruined, then please let me know and mark this as
  invalid.

Problem: when I click on a search result that is a file, that file should
open in it's default app (so e.g clicking on a picture opens up eog.) But in my
case, it only opens the folder containing that file, no matter what the
extension is (I tried .jpg, .png, .c, .h, .py, .doc, .odt, .pdf, .xls, .xlsx
etc etc).
The default apps are set in both gnome-control-center and ubunt-tweak.
