Global menu broke with update

Bug description:
I am using firefox version 17 on Ubuntu 12.04 from the
https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/firefox-next ppa.
I just did an upgrade, and on restart the global menu broke, and it
just shows up inside the application window.
Uninstalling firefox and reinstalling did not work.
