Title:
Nautilus modal dialogues block all Nautilus windows and desktops
Status in Nautilus:
Fix Released
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Binary package hint: nautilus
Whenever nautilus shows up an error dialog (which I believe are
modal), all further interaction with nautilus is blocked. So if I try,
for example, going to a different workspace (I currently use four of
them) and click a desktop icon, I can't because the modal error dialog
is still on my other workspace waiting for me to close/OK it.
To reproduce:
- Go to Workspace 1 and start a network file copy using two nautilus windows
for example, accessing a samba share
- Now disconnect network cable to generate a net copy error.
- An error message will be shown. Please do not confirm not close it.
- Go to Workspace 2 and try to open one of your desktop icons. It is not
possible due to nautilus blocking input on the above modal error message
dialog.
IMHO this should not happen. I think modality is OK for the window(s)
involved in the file copy, but not for the whole nautilus managed
desktop stuff.
