Title:
Unity launcher doesn't automaticaly show new USB device

Status in Unity:
  Expired
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
When I plug my digital camera to USB port, there is no new icon on the
unity launcher. I can see my device in nautilus, it is automatically
mounted. When I go to Compiz-config and change the setting "Show
devices" to "always" and back to "only mounted", then the camera icon
  appears on the launcher.

The desired reaction would be that the icon would appear immediately
after plugging the device in. Some time ago (~3 months) it worked like
  that.

  I'm using Ubuntu 12.04, 32 bit.

EDIT: I should note that the setting "Show devices" was originally set
  to "only mounted".
