Title:
  Software Center can't install apps and can not repair itself.

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I click on the Ubuntu Software Center icon and when it starts i get an
  error message saying: "Items cannot be installed or removed until the
  package catalog is repaired. Do you want to repair it now?".  When i
  press Repair it goes halfways and then says it can't be done, giving
  an error message saying:

  Then it goes on asking if i want to repair it on and on. What is the problem?
