Title:
  gnome-terminal memory leak

Status in “gnome-terminal” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I am running gnome-terminal with multiple windown (9+) on a continuous
basis. At least 7 of those windows are running processes that put
output in the window on a continuous basis. gnome-terminal starts with
a footprint of 516mb but within a day, the memory footprint is up to
1540mb and continues to grow and the system gets more and more
sluggish. This did not happen until I upgraded to the new release.
After about a day, I need to terminate and restart gnome-terminal in
order to get the system responsive again.

  Release:
  Description: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
