I'm also experiencing this issue on a multi-CD set. I put in the 2nd CD, and it detected it as the 1st in the set.

For example, some discs in a "Complete Tales of Beatrix Potter" audio book set load correct information, but others load cd and track titles that appear to be non-commercial, home made CDs. I'd be interested to know what identifier Rythmbox is using for CDs to cause this to happen. Perhaps multiple identifiers could be used - e.g., a disc ID AND track number AND total duration.
