Works out of the box. Just turn it on in alsamixer or mixer of your
choice.

Bug description:
  I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my mid-2010 Macbook Pro and I was
  trying to run Rosetta Stone, but it said that I did not have a
  microphone installed. I am new to this so step-by-step instructions
  will help a lot. I will keep trying google to figure it out, but
  please help!
