Sorry, but the Canonical Partner repository is indeed not part of
Ubuntu. Just like PPAs and other third-party repositories these are
packages which you can install on Ubuntu, but we cannot track problems
in Skype on Launchpad.

However, the Skype package I have installed is directly from the
Partner repository as per above. How could it not be any more official
then this?
