This also happens when creating a new torrent, except it consumes 50-75% of available system memory and 90-100% of the CPU regardless of the amount of cores and becomes non-responsive, leaving you no choice but to Kill it using a task manager application (xkill command, top task manager or gnome task manager).

The partition should be now mounted. 4) Choose the target directory in this partition. 5) Final click on "Open". 6) Transmission closes unexpectedly. Note: the crash occurs only when the selected destination folder is on a partition that is being mounted while browsing it. It does not occur if the partition has been already mounted via fstab or nautilus before.
