Hi Dave,
The fix provided for #1017017 doesn't work for me on Satellite P850-B236
although they seem to use same chip. So, this bug is not a duplicate of that
bug. We still need a fix for this model.

Hi
I have recently bought a Toshiba P850-132 laptop and configured dual boot
Win7 and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. The sound card works fine in Win7 but no sound in
12.04 (mute unchecked, channels checked w/ alsamixer)
cat /proc/asound/card*/codec\#*|grep -i codec reveals:
Codec: Realtek ID 280
Codec: Inel PantherPoint HDMI
This seems to point at Realtek ALC280 is not supported (yet) !? - any ways to
fix this?
