Happens often here as well.

Ubuntu 12.10, LibreOffice 3.6.6.2

It's when I open an existing doc, make edits and that I randomly find
that NONE of the menu options that use dialogs work... no save, save as,
export, printing, etc... save, export and print icons work however.
Since there is no "save as" icon you cannot use this feature.

I discovered that if I create a new doc, copy all from the old, paste it
into the new. The new doc's dialogs work fine so I can then save my
work.

Title:
"Save As" Dialog Not Coming Up

Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When I need to print an envelope, I use the attached file as a
template. I open it up, change the address information, and I'll
usually save it as a new filename if I intend to mail that company or
person in the future. (See attachment "Envelope.odt")

However, when I click the "Save As" option, from the "File" menu (in
libreoffice writer), no dialog is coming up (that would allow me to
save my changes under a new file name and location).
