Title:
Motherboard CD ROM connector not shown in mixer
Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: alsa-base
There seems to be no detection of the motherboard CD-ROM connector on
my MSI K9A2 motherboard. This issue seems to be the same as in Bug
218906, but is more general and probably belongs here in alsa-base,
not alsa-driver.
Ubu 10.04 LTS
apt-cache policy alsa-base yields:
alsa-base:
Installed: 1.0.22.1+dfsg-0ubuntu3
Candidate: 1.0.22.1+dfsg-0ubuntu3
Version table:
*** 1.0.22.1+dfsg-0ubuntu3 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages
Steps:
Install ubu
Have audio connected to motherboard CD-ROM connector (in my case, tv card
with separate audio out)
Open mixer
Expected:
Audio and mixer control
Result:
No audio on CD Channel
No CD slider in mixer
As per Post #3 in Bug 218906, adding the line below to
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base resolves this issue:
