Title:
log spam when detaching a slave device
Status in X.Org X server:
Fix Released
Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Each time a slave device gets detached, the server logs the following
messages:
[mi] miSpriteRealizeCursor called for floating device.
[mi] miSpriteSetCursor called for floating device.
[mi] miSpriteSetCursor called for floating device.
[mi] miSpriteRealizeCursor called for floating device.
[mi] miSpriteSetCursor called for floating device.
[mi] miSpriteRealizeCursor called for floating device.
[mi] miSpriteSetCursor called for floating device.
[mi] miSpriteRealizeCursor called for floating device.
[mi] miSpriteSetCursor called for floating device.
This creates a significant amount of log traffic in combination with XI2
button
grabs on SDs, for example when using easystroke (this is after a few hours of
using X):
$ ls -lh /var/log/Xorg.0.log
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 819K 2010-04-18 22:16 /var/log/Xorg.0.log
This has been fixed upstream by removing the warning messages, which
do not apply anymore:
