Spoke too soon. Looks like the right click function still doesn't work,
otherwise it works much better. This is true in 12.04 and also in 12.10
before I stopped using that version. Will try to install 13.04 soon and
see how it works there.

I think this particular touchpad is common in many laptops, so it would
be a good idea to get it working properly.

Bug description:
  The touchpad works fine except when I use the left touchpad button to
  try to grab and move a window the window doesn't move at all.
  Sometimes, the window moves a tiny bit (a few pixels.)

  The synaptics driver on my machine is: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
  1.6.2-1ubuntu1~precise1
