I just checked and the new version rewrites the /usr/share/applications/inkscape.desktop So you have to re edit it by adding to the end of the [Drawing Shortcut Group] Name=No Globel Menu Exec=env UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=0 inkscape TargetEnvironment=Unity
I also found I had to re-drag the Icon on to the launch pad of unity!
