Title:
  OpenNX connection to Ubuntu 12.10 from Mac OS Mountain Lion report,
  "Error activating XKB configuration"

Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  While running nomachine's nx server on Ubuntu 12.10, and connecting to
  it via OpenNX client for Mac OS 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion), upon getting
  the initial window load, I have a pop-up immediately come up saying,

  "Error activating XKB configuration.
  There can be various reasons for that.

  If you report this situation as a bug, include the results of
   xprop -root | grep XKB
   gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard model
   gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard layouts
   gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard options

  Hence, I'm producing my output here:

  $ xprop -root | grep XKB
  _XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "xfree86", "empty", "empty", "", ""
  _XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xfree86", "empty", "empty", "", ""

  $ gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard model
  ''

  $ gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard layouts
  ['us']

  $ gsettings get org.gnome.libgnomekbd.keyboard options
  @as []

  I've read some posts, and some talk about symlinks in the xkb/rules
directory, so dumping that info here too just in case:

  root@XXXXXX:/usr/share/X11/xkb/rules# ls -l
  total 584

  Please let me know if you need any more information about this.

  This is on an 24" iMac, 2008 aluminum model, with a full, keyboard
  (keypad and all). By getting the above popup, most of my keys appear
  to work, but noticeably, my down key does not. I believe its because
  there was some error due to the above popup that I'd like to get
  resolved.

  Thanks!
