As far as the video driver goes, 845g should be stable. Not sure what is
wrong with the installation though, can you check whether it is using
the same driver release and clarify what the issue is?

Raring video crash during install, old intel 82845G Brookdale chipset

Fix Released
Bug description:
old intel 82845G Brookdale chipset.
During Raring install, I tried the Install option from the install screen.
When asked if I have 5.4 GB hd space for install, I select continue... system
drops to a black and white text screen, system locks, must turn off the machine
and start over.
I am using LUBUNTU now to send this report.
