I have found the same bug on debian wheezy b4. Totem (3.0.1) caused
strobing severe enough to make me feel slightly ill. I imagine this
could be dangerous! Reported at debian also. File a lame encoded mp3
with embedded albim art jpg. intel hd400 chipset amd64. I'm guessing
this is application level bug.

Title:
totem flickers between cover art and visualisation

Status in “totem” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When playing an MP3 that has embedded cover art, the visualisation
appears. However, once or twice a second (roughly) the cover art
flicks up for about a frame.

This doesn't detract from the playing, it's just quite distracting.
