Totem hangs, becomes all blank and can't be shut down

Bug description:
Sometimes when I open a file with totem, the window becomes all blank
and I can't shut down totem. Opening another totem player will result
in the same thing. I have to kill the application from the terminal. I
am using Ubuntu 12.04.1. The version of totem is: Version:
3.0.1-0ubuntu21

I don't know if it helps. I could try to reproduce the bug on purpose,
but I would probably need some advices on how to capture useful
