I had a similar experience, which appeared suddenly in a previous installation
of NetBeans 6.9.1 that had been working fine.
Ubuntu 12.04.2

NetBeans suddenly started asking me for a "master password" when it never had
done that before.
The /var/log/messages.log showed the same error as above trying load
libgnome-keyring.so.

Workaround:
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgnome-keyring.so.0
/usr/lib/libgnome-keyring.so
