Title:
Screen freezes after display dims while playing a movie

Status in “totem” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: totem

While on battery power, my laptop (Acer AS 1810T) is set to dim the screen
when idle for 10 minutes. During play of a movie in fullscreen, the system
(11.04) dims the display as it should, but the second time it dims, the screen
freezes. tty1-6 are still accessible. Killing totem from the console at tty1
does not work. Restarting the X-server (ctrl-alt delete) fixes this.
  totem version 2.32.0-0ubuntu10
