No detailed information on codec in file properties nautilus

Bug description:
When Gnome 2 still was in use, I easily could find the codec of for
example an avi file by right clicking and looking at its properties.
This was particularly useful when moving an avi file to a multimedia
player, since not all codecs are supported by media players.
Now, since Ubuntu 11.10, I have to open the file in for example vlc
and search for the information I need, only to know if it can play on
my multimedia player. This is quite a hassle for something that used
to be very easy in Gnome 2.
Is this another regression (like not being able to choose an app from
a custom location to open a file with)?
It really starts to be frustrating that in Gnome simple things like
these are overlooked. If it is because of the focus on ease of use, I
can guarantee this is not an example of 'ease of use'. On the
contrary, it makes the use of linux more complicated. Not everybody
knows how to find the information I described, but I'm sure many
people would benefit having this info available in Nautilus.
