Title:
[HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC, IDT 92HD75B3X5, Green Line Out, Front]
No automute
Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Ubuntu 11.10, 64-bit ubuntu-desktop installation:
The speaker doesn't automatically mute when plugging in headphones to
either of two front jacks. Moreover, could not manually mute speaker
while enabling the front jack either. Ubuntu package linux-alsa-
driver-modules-3.0.0-15-generic was installed in an attempt to correct
the problem unsuccessfully. I'm used to manually controlling audio
output: using alsamixer, when muting the speakers, the master volume
is also muted simultaneously without my direct intervention.
'options snd-hda-intel model=auto' was appended by me to
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf in an attempt to mitigate the problem,
which was also unsuccessful following a reboot.
