Hi Chris,

Thank you for your reply. This problem was specific to Ubuntu 9.10 and
works fine in newer versions.

Regards,

Title:
[i945gme] Laptop monitor is always turned on automatically

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xorg

I use my laptop with an external monitor and even though I disable the laptop
screen, it is always turned on automatically when:
  - Someone logs in or changes user
  - I run the command "xrandr", even without any arguments
  - I try to start compiz
I've tried turning it off by running xrandr and by using the GUI from the
System menu, it remained turned off until I did anything listed above.

I have this problem since I upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04 from 9.10, which
  was working fine.
