Switching between TTY and Desktop while using external monitor causes
unexpected behavior:
Karmic:
F1 - Desktop Freezes on external VGA while TTY is displayed on internal LCD
F7 - TTY remains with a cursor (frozen) on internal LCD
Lucid
F1 - TTY is displayed on both LCD and VGA (large unused zone - cropped
instead of stretched)
F7 - TTY remains with a cursor (frozen) on internal LCD
