Bug description:

This bug has already been reported I think, see Bug #614178. I just
reported it again using ubuntu-bug to collect information about my
system which currently is mythbuntu 10.04 but I had the same problem
with Ubuntu 10.04 and 9.10 on my HP laptop nc6220.
I'm not sure about the package I reported this problem for. I just followed
the advice in Bug #543808 reply #12 that encouraged one with a similar problem
to du just this.

My problem appears after I have closed and opened the lid (or just
press and release the lid closing switch). The screen goes off and on,
sometimes by itself and sometimes when I press a button or move the
mouse. When the screen is off (black or blank) it turns on if I move
the mouse but it can go off again the next second or stay on for a
whole minute or so. I suspected the screen saver so I removed it from
my system but it didn't help. In fact, the screen saver could also
trigger this problem, but not any more... Rebooting the system fix the
problem.
