Title:
[i945gm] Strange interaction xrandr and KDE4
Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: x11-xserver-utils
I'm using my notebook docked (in the office) and alone at the home. I have
connected 2 external monitors if is docked and I use two attached short scripts
to switch output between both (dual-head) external and internal LCDs. There is
really strange interaction between xrandr and window manager (?) - look
attached pictures:
1) xrandrDocked.png: There is only one little problem - the panel doesn't
maximize his width. It happens when notebooks wakes up from RAM. If is docked
during boot that is all right. I run script dualHeadOn manually after loggin to
KDE session
2) xrandrSwitchToInternal.png: I ran dualHeadOff script. Pictures shows how
windows was transformed to new resolution. Sometimes it is done correctly
(maximized windows remain maximized), but usually not. (Small rectangle in the
upper left corner is FireFox ;?))
3) xrandrSwitchToExternal.png: This is the opposite direction - I ran
dualHeadOn. That the problem occurs every time, I'm afraid
- I have enabled Auto-hide properties of the panel. This behaviour is on/off
randomly
- some icons disappear from the System Tray (like nm-applet, Skype). Non-KDE
- maybe?
