Title:
Characters don't display correctly with certain pdf viewers

Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I am attaching a screenshot for reference. I have to have these
working because they are my bank statements.

I have tested this same file on Fedora and OpenSuse using LiveCD's of their
OS's and it works perfectly there
I can open these pdf's using xpdf.
I can not open them using Gimp. Gimp displays the same as Evince. So it
must be something shared between Gimp and Evince but not xpdf. Something Gnome
related or something Unity related possibly as the other 2 distributions use
Gnome 3.

I have seen some other bugs already posted about this but it says a
fix was released. My system is up to date.
