Not that I understand how this bugs are being handled, anyway, but just
to ask whether I understand the recent change:

With FireFox versions nearing the 20, the continued validity of this bug
report for 15 versions is deemed less important because on the
historical version it was reported for some five years ago, it's no
longer valid for some reason?


Interestingly, while the design error that doesn't let you retry is still found 
in all versions of FireFox, the implementation error that causes the frequent 
occurrence of this seems to be limited to Ubuntu installed versions. Those 
versions I got from Mozilla for beta-testing don't seem to block, but the 
updates coming from Ubuntu which have the same Mozilla FireFox version number 
still do.

Bug description:
  When I close Firefox and start it again I get the following message:

  Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new
  window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart
  your system.

  I also have this problem with Firefox on Vista.
  I use Firefox 3.0.4.
  Ubuntu 8.10 (64 bit)
