Has this issue occured for you again on a newer release of Ubuntu?
12.04 or up preferably?

Ubuntu 11.04 is no longer a supported release.  LibreOffice has also
changes a lot since then.

  recovery error in libre office

Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: libreoffice

  Completed a downloaded application, which i e-mailed from libre
  office. Have not received an automated response of delivery and when i
  reopened the document, the recovery was not able to restart the
  document, opening it in it's original form - all input had been
  discarded.
