I tested this and it works just like all the Microsoft products. I
generally preview on Excel and change to the best orientation, (This is
often landscape). Clicking the properties button and clicking the
landscape button does the trick though.

Title:
Open Office / Calc - Cannot easily set print orientation.

Status in The OpenOffice.org Suite:
  New
Status in “openoffice.org” package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Issue: When a user attempts to change page orientation using the Print
window after pressing CTRL+P or File > Print they are unable to do so
  successfully.

I understand how to properly set the page orientation in Open Office,
I just think it should be possible to do so using the "Print Window"
after pressing Ctrl+P, or File > Print.

In a perfect world "Page Orientation" would be configurable on the
first window presented to the user after invoking the Print command
  via dotting "Portrait" or "Landscape".

Note: Other oo.o apps are probably affected such as Writer, etc.

  Thank you.
