Bug description:
This is probably my fault, but basically I installed my-tv to test my
hauppauge tv tuner card and when I tuned to a channel my display
resolution changed to 1024x786. I tried to change it back but the
resolution I was using (1280x1024) was no longer in the list. I went
through several steps trying to manually add back the configuration
using a series of xrandr commands, but all of these were unsuccessful,
so I tried editing the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. I noticed the config
file did not exist, so I created a new file and inserted a
configuration for 1280x1024 and 1280x960. I rebooted, and then I was
hosed. My system was recovered by re-running the setup for X server,
BUT my 1280x1024 resolution is still missing.
Anways, thats a summary of what happened and how I got to this.
