I just noticed that starting gimp in a terminal with the switch
"--stack-trace-mode=always" prevents the crash. "save as" saves and gimp
stays on. So the command I use is: "gimp --stack-trace-mode=always &".
This may or may not always work. I just made the observation. On other
machines, set up differently, it may not even work at all. It's still
worth a try, I guess. -- Frederic.

Confirmed
Bug description:
Gimp 2.6.12 on ubuntu 12.04.1 AMD64
Open jpg image.
Save as, same directory, change name.
Gimp freeze some second and crashes.
Image seems saved correctly.
