Title:
[gm45] Dell Latitude E-5500 - laptop screen black

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Sometimes after login, when I do an xrandr (workaround to bug #617421
) the notebook screen is black (happens only when no external monitor
is attached). I can see the mouse pointer moving but that's it.

I was about to file that for gdm package, but I am not sure what
package is responsible for this problem.

When that happens and I do (in blind attempt) start the console and
execute xrandr (to reevaluate screens) does not help either. Switching
CTRL+ALT+F1 and CTRL+ALT+F7 back and forth does not help either.

Switching to a text login, logging in and doing "restart gdm" then
  helps.

Last time it happened I did xrandr --current >xrandr-output.txt in a
blind attempt and then looked at it after gdm restart. I found that
also the TV1 was again active (which is the main issue of bug #617421
mentioned above). Probably it has to do with this. Probably TV1 was
guessed to be the main screen but anyway LVDS1 was shown active true
  (see attachment).
