*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 526735 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/526735
This is not a duplicate of #526735. This is regression from the previous
version which used to allow sorting by status.
#526735 is an enhancement to support more sorting criteria, such as the
IM network they're using. #526735 involves more work than this, so they
should not be confused with each other.

Title:
Sorting Empathy contacts by state
Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
There should be a way to sort contacts by status. I mean online first,
then offline. Now there seems to be an option in gconf -
sort_criterium. It's set to "state" by default but still contacts are
sorted alphabetically.
