Bug description:
The default Intel driver used in Lucid is having some rendering
problems in openGL applications. They can be easily noticed if you
start Blender 2.49b or Blender 2.50 alpha2 downloaded from the main
Blender website.
I've been using Intel 2.9.1 driver from xorg-edgers when it was
present there when I was using Karmic and I don't remember having such
problems then and there.
[Workaround]
Disable texture tilling (with driconf)
