are the logs from the same machine? Xorg.0.log.old says it's using an
nvidia card, the current one shows radeon..

These crashes are silent and I get these messages that the system has
crashed and later the system will hang and NOT recover. I can only
recover by holding the poer button for some prolonged period of time.
