Right. And just switching to a Korean keyboard layout is not supposed to be sufficient, is it? Btw, ibus-hangul is automatically installed if you install the Korean language. But doing so is not necessary; as you said you can install it via e.g. the Software Centre. So I take it there is no "Cannot type Korean characters" bug. Possibly there were a couple of misconceptions. On 2013-03-20 14:46, Floby wrote: > I also have this bug. I can do so now. If "Korean - Korean" is the only (or the topmost) input method in IBus Preferences, I can switch between them by typing <Ctrl> + <Space>. > The problem seems to be caused by the chronic impossibility to remap > anything in Ubuntu + Unity. There is an interface in IBus Preferences for setting keyboard shortcuts. Status in One Hundred Paper Cuts: New Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I wanted to write some flashcards in korean. I navigated to the keyboard application and added the korean keyboard. The little keyboard widget with "en" appeared on the upper right hand corner. I switched the "en" to "ko" and tried typing. Not only did english characters appear, but the widget also still showed a dot on the "en" keyboard, even though I switched to the "ko" one.
