Title:
Gnome-panel doesn't start upon login
Status in “gnome-panel” package in Ubuntu:
Opinion
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-panel
Was working fine in 10.04 but then I did an "update-manager -d" to
look at the beta release and gnome-panel did not load. The desktop was
there but the application menu and the open windows bar at the bottom
were not there. I tried running more updates and then finally figured
out it was gnome-panel. When run from the terminal it loads fine with
these warnings:
** Message: Could not connect to session manager: Could not get owner
of name 'org.gnome.SessionManager': no such name
** (gnome-panel:2346): WARNING **: Could not connect to session
manager: Could not get owner of name 'org.gnome.SessionManager': no
such name
Let me know what I can do to help.
