Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xorg

I'm using Hardy and the open source ati driver.

When I'm logged into X11, I cannot switch to any console using Ctrl-
Alt-Fn, the system just stays in X11. Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to shutdown
  X11 does not work either.

xev shows that e.g. Ctrl-Alt-F1 seems to generate the correct keysyms:

Also, I don't have any DontVTSwitch options in my xorg.conf.

I found several bugs reporting similar problems, but none seemed to be an
exact duplicate:
  Bug #24073, Bug #185152, Bug #4465,Bug #282068.
