Title:
Ubuntu Software Center doesn't work with WVDial

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I connect to the internet with a Huawei E220 3G dongle. For some
reason, Ubuntu's built in wireless broadband manager doesn't work. I
have to use the wvdial workaround to get it to work.

However, this does not register as a connection in the top panel.
Also, it does not register as a connection in the Ubuntu Software
Center - so I cannot download any programs through this.

It's a rare problem, I am sure, but pretty annoying for me :(

apt-get works fine of course, but how can I donwload steam through
  apt-get? ;)
