Title:
Xorg crashed with SIGABRT in DamageRegister()

Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Release: Ubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) dailies.
  XOrg version: 1:7.7+1ubuntu4
  Intel XOrg driver version: 2:2.21.5-0ubuntu1
ATI XOrg video driver version: 1:7.1.0-0ubuntu2
  LightDM version: 1.5.1-0ubuntu2

At boot, my machine has an issue if there is a montor connected to the
external VGA port at boot. The issue is infrequent.

I am able to work around it by dropping to a TTY and starting LightDM
manually through sudo su when I am given the "Unable to detect
hardware" dialog, at which point, the machine works perfectly.

Whilst the crash happened when trying to start LightDM, I believe
(given the symptoms of the bug) that the issue resides in the X Server
failing detection of the hardware and the activation of the relevant
drivers, but the hardware works fine without the screen attached
(aside from an ACPI BIOS bug from HP themselves regarding the
  backlight).

My hardware is a HP TouchSmart tm2-2190sa laptop with a hybrid
Intel/ATI graphics system, and the spec for the test machine is
available on HP's website. Additional infomration on hardware/system
config available at further request, I'm not so sure on what would be
relevant, as graphics drivers are not my speciality.

I will point out that my rc.local contains the command to disable the
ATI chip with vgaswitcheroo, so I believe the issue resides in XOrg
  itself.
