This doesn't appear to actually be fixed and the workaround of running the below command no longer works on Ubuntu 13.04 with linux 3.8.0-18. Is there a way to get the fix from 3.9 into 13.04? My system is so unresponsive at times, and it happens fairly often, that I can't do anything with the mouse.

When I start a new session after booting, the mouse is very slow and it feels like something might be taking up lots of resources on the system. After a few minutes, the problem goes away and the mouse works perfectly.
