I have relied on Rhythmbox for years, but it is unusable since upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04, Rhythmbox version 2.96. Previous version Rhythmbox 0.13.3 worked perfectly. Please fix! Is there a kickstarter or something to get developers attention on this?

In Rhythmbox music library location is set to ~/Music. In ~/Music I created a symbolic link to a folder on external drive (/media/external/Music). The USB cable I use to connect the drive to PC sometimes loses connection. After that Rhythmbox pauses playback because it can no longer read the file, but when drive reconnects again Rhythmbox rewrites ID3 tags of almost all the queued mp3 files.
