While attempting to install a new video card additional drivers I
could not activate the NVIDIA driver as I was refused access

Bug description:
I installed a new NVIDIA video card and when activated additional drivers the
NVIDIA driver was indicated as not active.
When I attempted to activate the driver I was refused Permission Denied. Was
not asked for a password to enable
the driver. No way to update drivers
