I just tried to set the bass level to the max and play the testing track with pulseaudio while checking the maximum usable volume. The distortion appeared sooner (lower volume level), but then I heard just one loud crack and then silence. I'm affraid, that my soundcard died !!!! I hear only silence ... tried rebooting, switching off and waiting few minutes. Nothing helps :(
