Well, it's been a while, but today after upgrading to kubuntu 13.04 my emu1212m card started working! After installation I got another dmesg message related to sound card:
[ 13.355906] emu1010: Special config. [ 13.356027] emu1010: EMU_HANA_ID = 0x3f [ 13.368062] emu1010: firmware: emu/emu1010b.fw not found. I've downloaded and compiled alsa-firmware package as described in this comment: http://askubuntu.com/a/60794 And now card finally works: [ 140.137766] emu1010: Special config. According to alsa documentation this card should be supported on my current kernel "2.6.35-27-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Tue Feb 22 20:25:46 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux". Unfortunatelly during system startup alsa modules fail to launch with following message: "EMU10K1_Audigy: probe of 0000:02:04.0 failed with error -5" (see config attachment). I tried to recompile the kernel with alsa stuff compiled statically but I still get the same error. I also tried to compile newest version of alsa as described in http:// www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix_Talk:Module-emu10k1, but after invoking modprobe command I got lots of messages about wrong/unknown symbols "Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)" Soundcard is fine, because it works under win systems.
