Exactly the same problem here, on ubuntu 12.10 (x64 platform), libreoffice Version 3.6.2.2 (Build ID: 360m1(Build:2))
I know this is related somehow with libgtk, but there are too many bug reports relating to it and I am little lost. Is there a current workaround for it? I think the importance of this bug should be changed to "major" because, at least for those who are involved, this seriously limits the usability of the software, unless the root of this bug could be tracked down to an existing bug report hence this bug repord should be marked as duplicated. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1077395 Title: LibreOffice writer refuses to show any dialog Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Writer refuses to open any dialog (Find, Format whatever) with no message whatsoever. No console output either. Sometimes it starts happening after some time, sometimes directly after starting the application. Restarting helps, but not always.
