No. I will explain my idea clearly. My idea comes from Ubuntu One. For
illistration, I boot up my computer and login. On startup, Ubuntu One
has an icon in the icon bar at the top. When I change files that are to
be synced, Ubuntu One handles that immediately. I do not need to run the
program manually, it handles all of this on its own without requiring
that a Ubuntu One manager window be up.

Title:
Idea: Add a Thunderbird Icon to Unity

Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I would like to offer a suggestion. I would find it useful to have a
"Thunderbird Daemon" that has an icon in the icon bar at the top. This
daemon would watch my email account for emails and use notify-send to
inform me. This would be better than checking often or leaving the
  whole program GUI running.
